Cricket Betting at crickets — A Complete Guide to Live Sports Betting on BPL, IPL and International Matches
From T20 to Test, match winner to live in-play — this page covers in detail how betting works in the crickets sports section, which markets are popular, and how to read odds.
Cricket Formats and Favourite Tournaments
To talk about cricket betting, you first need to understand the formats, because the types of markets and odds differ for each format.
T20 is the fastest format — innings of just 20 overs, so every ball matters. BPL and IPL are both played in this format, and it is the most popular among Bangladeshi bettors. On batting-friendly pitches, a single over can turn the match around, which means live odds shift quickly.
ODI, or One Day International, is a 50-over match. Compared to T20, there is more room for strategy — the different nature of the powerplay, middle overs and death overs gives the markets an extra dimension. Besides the T20 World Cup, ODI markets are active during the ICC Champions Trophy and Bangladesh Tigers bilateral series.
Test cricket is a five-day match — a draw is a separate result, which does not exist in T20 or ODI. Session betting and innings-based markets are available here.
BPL and IPL get the most attention among Bangladeshi bettors, but significant markets also form around the T20 World Cup and bilateral international series. We will come to football betting later — but the main difference between cricket and football is that cricket has innings-based micro-markets, which football does not.
T20
The fastest format — the foundation of BPL and IPL. Markets change with every over.
ODI and Test
Strategic markets in longer formats — session betting, innings totals, wicket markets.
Football and Other Sports
In the crickets sports section, you can bet on football as well as cricket. Football fans in Bangladesh follow European leagues and international tournaments.
Football markets work a little differently — the match winner market has three possibilities: home team win, draw, or away team win. In limited-overs cricket, a draw is generally not an option. Half-time and full-time markets, goalscorer betting and corner markets are common in football. Cricket has over-by-over markets, but football has fewer minute-by-minute equivalents.
In other sports like Kabaddi or Badminton, the number of markets is limited, mainly restricted to match winner and series winner. However, the sports section at crickets stays active during any major event.
Those who want to enjoy casino games alongside sports can find live casino and slots on the same platform at crickets casino.
Popular Betting Markets
Various types of markets are available in the crickets sports section. Below is a brief introduction to the seven most commonly used markets.
Match Winner
Bet on which team will win. In T20 there are two possibilities — Team A or Team B. Example: if Team A's odds of winning are higher, the potential return is also lower.
Toss Winner
Which team will win the toss in the match. The result is completely independent — it has no connection to the pitch or team strength. The probability of both outcomes is generally almost equal.
Top Batsman
Which batter will score the most runs? The form of a team's opener or middle-order batter and the type of pitch play a role in this market.
Total Runs Over/Under
Whether the total runs in the match will be more (over) or less (under) than a set line. Example: the line is 160 runs — an over bet means you expect the total to be more than 160.
Multi Bet
Combining multiple selections into a single bet. You receive the total return only if all selections are correct; if even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost.
First Wicket Fall
Bet on how many runs will be scored before the first wicket falls. In T20, aggressive batting in the first few overs means the odds on this market shift quickly.
Handicap
One team is given a virtual advantage or disadvantage to make the betting more balanced. This market is more common in matches between two strong teams.
How to Read Odds
Odds are written in three common formats — decimal, fractional and American. All three express the same probability, just written differently.
| Format | Odds | Return |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | ৳1,500 (profit ৳1,000 + stake ৳500) |
| Fractional | 2/1 | ৳1,500 — same return |
| American | +200 | ৳1,500 — same return |
Example 1: a ৳500 bet on Team A to win at decimal 3.00, fractional 2/1 and American +200 — all three are the same odds. If you win, the total return is ৳1,500 (profit ৳1,000 + stake ৳500); if you lose, ৳500 is gone.
Favourite Team Odds
Example 2: Team B is the favourite — decimal 1.25, fractional 1/4, American -400. American minus odds mean how much you need to bet to make ৳100 profit. A ৳500 bet gives a total return of ৳625 (profit ৳125).
Lower Odds Mean a Bigger Favourite
The lower the decimal odds, the bigger the favourite. 1.25 means the bookmaker considers the probability very high — so the return is also low. And 3.00 means ৳300 is returned for every ৳100 — higher risk, higher potential return.

Live In-Play Betting
Live in-play betting at crickets means placing bets while watching the actual situation as the match is in progress. It is a completely different experience from regular pre-match betting.
When a wicket falls, the odds for the batting team change in an instant. Say Team A loses 3 wickets in the middle overs — Team B's odds of winning shorten and Team A's odds of winning lengthen. In exactly the same way, odds are updated after every over, every boundary and every dot ball.
Over-based betting is especially popular in T20 — micro-markets such as how many runs will be scored in the next over, or whether a wicket will fall in a specific over, are available. When doing in-play betting, keep in mind that odds change quickly — a short delay and the bookmaker has already updated them.
In-play betting is best experienced on mobile, where you can place a bet while watching the scorecard. Live betting is even easier on the crickets App.
Practical Tips for Betting
- Set a budget in advance. Decide how much you will bet in each session before you start and stay within that limit. Betting is for entertainment — do not treat it as a source of regular income.
- Get comfortable with one market. For beginners, the advice is to focus only on the match winner market at first. Spreading bets across all markets at once makes it harder to make decisions.
- Understand the format. The same team may perform differently in T20 and Test cricket. Keep track of the team's recent form in the format you are betting on.
- Be careful with multi bets. Multi bets offer higher returns, but all selections need to be correct. More selections means a lower chance of success.
- Be patient in live betting. Placing bets in a hurry during in-play increases the chance of mistakes. It is better to watch one over clearly and then make a decision.
- Play responsibly. Betting is for entertainment only. It is not wise to place large bets to recover losses after a loss. See the Responsible Gaming page for detailed guidelines.
Multi Bet Example
Three selections: decimal 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.80 = 4.03 (approximate). A ৳100 bet returns ৳403 if all three are correct. If any one loses, the full ৳100 is gone.
Team A and Team B are fictional names — these are for illustration only, not a promise or guarantee.
